Giving

Not only does the Anglican Parish of Fremantle cost approx $1,000 a day to run, but there are always church development projects of various sizes, waiting in the wings to be funded.

Present congregations are still benefiting from the donations and bequests from many generous benefactors since Fremantle was settled; in turn, future generations will benefit from the foresight and generosity of today’s benefactors.

For its present and future, the Anglican Parish of Fremantle welcomes donations and bequests, large or small, so please consider us in your giving and when making your will.

Service Collections and Envelopes – please contribute as generously as you can, and don’t forget that the church, too, is affected by rising costs.

Direct Debits –  this is the simplest way of giving, where you nominate an amount each week, fortnight or month to be transferred from your bank account and it occurs automatically.  The facility can be changed or stopped at any time.  The forms are available for download (ie please click on) from the Anglican Community Fund. No more scraping around for the “right” money before attending church!

Bequests – When making or amending your will, please make provision for a bequest to “The Anglican Parish of Fremantle”.  You can stipulate whether or not you wish to have your bequest applied to a certain aspect of the church, but it is more useful to leave the use of the funds to the discretion of the Parish Council, to allow funds to be spent on matters and projects that are affecting the parish at that time.  The churches are a spiritual “home” for many who are parishioners or who were baptised or married in them, so please remember the Anglican Parish of Fremantle in your will.

Donations – many among our congregation and visitors wish to make a donation, either in memoriam for a loved one associated with the parish, or merely through spur-of-the-moment generosity.  If you wish to contact the office to enquire about sponsoring particular projects, please click on the “Contact Us” tab above.  Some of our future projects that are awaiting sponsors are:

Mechanising the historic organ at St John’s – the organ has undergone several refurbishments over its lifetime including installation of electronic controls which have removed keyboard sensitivity.  This project will cost in the region of $200,000.

Concept Planning, Planning and Building of an Extension to St John’s – this is a project that will be undertaken in various stages, each requiring funding.  The object is to modernise facilities associated with the church as a major public building at the heart of  Fremantle, create community rooms for use as Sunday School and for Fremantle community groups, and also link the parish office to the church, so that St John’s can be open to visitors each day.  The stages of the project will cost from $50,000 to $5m and we are seeking benefactors who wish to contribute to making this happen.  Please bear us in your “gifting” thoughts.
