St John’s Fremantle

At the heart of Fremantle (cnr Queen and Adelaide Streets)

St John’s is a spiritual home to many people and a sacred site in Anglican terms. An atmosphere of the Divine Presence is evident as you enter the building and take in the proportional space of grandeur and beauty.

Interesting stories lie behind the magnificent stained glass, the triptych behind the altar, the commanding brass lectern in the shape of an eagle and the plaques set around the walls. A plaque to the survivors of HMAS Perth lost at sea in 1942 is placed in the sanctuary and a special commemorative service is held each year in March.
